Seawolf Cleaning Services was founded in 2023 by Andre Silva, a cleaner turned facilities manager, to run commercial cleaning the way he always wanted it run: done properly, written down, and easy to check.

Andre started out as a cleaner. Clients noticed the difference and kept saying so, and that standard is what took him into facilities management, looking after buildings and overseeing multiple sites across London, alongside grounds maintenance work.
Running his own business had always been the plan. When he moved to Portsmouth, he wanted to be close to his family and there whenever they needed him, with the flexibility that only comes from running your own company. He also wanted to change how cleaning is done: a written spec, vetted staff, every visit on record, and a real person who answers the phone.
Andre is from Madeira, and the company's name comes from there.

Why the Name Seawolf
On Madeira's south coast is Câmara de Lobos, a fishing town whose name means roughly "chamber of wolves". When Portuguese navigators charted the coast around 1420, they found its bay full of Mediterranean monk seals resting on the rocks. In Portuguese those seals are lobos-marinhos: sea wolves. The town took its name from them, and the ferry that links Madeira to its neighbouring island, Porto Santo, is still called the Lobo Marinho, the Sea Wolf.
Starting a business in Portsmouth, a waterfront city on an island, made the name an easy choice. The monk seal is a survivor, one of the rarest seals in the world and still holding on in Madeira's waters, and that resilience is what we wanted the company to stand for. Our logo is a land wolf these days, but the name still comes from the sea.
Why We Built Our Own Software
Running a cleaning business usually means a stack of spreadsheets, three or four separate apps that don't talk to each other, and expensive software built for another country's rules. None of it worked the way a UK cleaning company actually works.
So Andre built Custodia: one place to run the whole business, from quotes and schedules to staff, payroll, compliance and client reporting. Software that actually delivers, and works for the people using it rather than against them.

Why Seawolf Exists
Most cleaning options in Portsmouth split into two extremes: national contractors who route every call through a helpdesk before anyone with real authority sees it, or cleaning arranged informally with no written spec, no vetting, and no record of what actually happened. Seawolf was built to bring proper structure, a written spec, DBS checks, every visit logged, to a service that's still run personally and directly, not lost in a call centre queue.

Every cleaner is DBS-checked before their first visit on any contract, not after.
Your own client portal
Visit history, compliance documents and insurance certificates are visible to you directly in your client portal, not something you have to chase over email.
