How Much Does Office Cleaning Cost in Portsmouth?
Short answer: from about £69 a visit for a small to mid-sized office, including travel and products, with a 2-hour minimum visit, or around £530 a month for two visits a week. Here are our guide prices, an estimator, and what moves the number.

If you've asked a few office cleaning companies in Portsmouth for a quote and got three different numbers, that's normal, not a sign someone's overcharging you. Office cleaning pricing isn't a fixed rate per square foot the way, say, a taxi fare is per mile. It's built from several variables that change from building to building, and the honest answer to "how much does it cost" is: it depends, and here's on what.

A small office on two 2-hour visits a week comes to about £530 a month. What changes the price: the size of the space, the number of washrooms and kitchens, how often we visit, and whether cleaning happens out of hours. Under 2 hours of work? Fewer, longer visits usually suit smaller offices better than short daily ones.
The variables that actually move the price
Floor area and layout. A 2,000 sq ft open-plan office with one kitchen and one washroom cleans faster than a 2,000 sq ft warren of partitioned rooms with three washrooms and a server room nobody's allowed to vacuum near. Square footage alone is a rough proxy at best.
Visit frequency. Five visits a week costs more in total than one. Our guide prices are per visit, so the total scales with how often we come. Because every visit is at least 2 hours, a smaller office usually gets better value from fewer, longer visits than from a short clean every day.
Access hours. Before-opening or after-close cleaning sometimes carries a small premium over daytime access, particularly for very early (before 6am) or very late slots, because of how shift patterns work for the cleaning team.
What's actually included. A quote that only covers floors and bins is not comparable to one that includes washroom consumables, kitchen degreasing, and glass partitions. Get the scope in writing before comparing two numbers.
Waste volume and washroom count. A single unisex washroom and a bank of six stalls are not the same job, and neither are the associated consumables (soap, paper towels, toilet roll) and bin liners.
Guide price vs fixed price
A guide price tells you whether you're in the right range before you spend time on quotes. It can't see your building, so nobody should sign a contract on it. Some companies publish a low per-square-foot rate and then add "extras" after the first visit. We'd rather show an honest guide up front, then fix the real number in writing after a free walkthrough, and keep to it.
Questions worth asking any quote, including ours
Whoever you're getting quotes from, these questions will tell you more than the headline number:
Is the price per visit or a monthly rate averaged across visits? What exactly is included, washroom consumables, kitchen deep-clean, glass? Is there a minimum contract length, and what's the process to change the spec later? What happens if a visit can't go ahead as planned, are you told in advance, or does it just quietly not happen? Is the company insured, and can they show you a certificate without a fuss?
A company that answers all of these clearly, in writing, before you sign anything is a better sign than a company that just gives you the lowest number.
What this looks like with Seawolf
We scope every office cleaning contract on a free site walkthrough, not a phone call or a floor plan you email over. You get a written spec covering exactly what's included and how often, and a price that's confirmed before anyone signs anything, not adjusted after the first visit. If you're comparing us against another Portsmouth or Hampshire provider, ask them the same questions above, it's the fastest way to compare quotes that actually mean the same thing.
FAQs
Common Questions
Is office cleaning cheaper if I book more visits per week?
A little, per visit: some yearly costs are shared across more visits, so a 2-hour visit is about £69 at one a week, £61 at two and £55 at five. The monthly total still rises with each extra visit. Every visit is at least 2 hours, so smaller offices often get better value from two longer visits a week than from a short daily clean.
Do quotes usually include washroom consumables like soap and toilet roll?
Not always. Always confirm exactly what’s included in writing before comparing two quotes, since one company’s "full clean" might exclude consumables that another includes as standard.
What is the average cost of office cleaning in Portsmouth?
As a guide, office cleaning starts from about £69 a visit including travel and products, with a 2-hour minimum visit. A larger office needing three hours is about £91, and two visits a week for a small office comes to about £530 a month. The exact price depends on size, washrooms, frequency and access hours.
Can I get a fixed price without a site visit?
You can get an estimate, but a genuinely reliable, fixed price needs someone to see the actual layout, washroom count and condition of the space, which is why we do a free walkthrough before quoting.
